The Options Learning Program at Compass Charter Schools is a flexible, home-based educational model designed for families who want to take an active role in their child’s learning. In this program, parents serve as Learning Coaches, selecting curriculum from a list of approved providers and guiding daily instruction at home. Each family is supported by a credentialed Supervising Teacher who offers regular check-ins, guidance, and academic oversight to ensure student success. With the freedom to personalize pacing and content, the Options Program is ideal for TK–12 students who benefit from individualized learning plans in a supportive, home-centered environment.
Designed for families who prefer a home-based learning environment with a high level of parental engagement.
Learning Coaches (parents) serve as the primary daily instructors, selecting approved curriculum, creating learning plans, and overseeing their scholar’s progress.
Credentialed Supervising Teachers provide support, monitor academic progress, guide curriculum choices, and manage educational support funds.
The program includes monthly learning checkpoints, benchmark testing, work sample submissions, and graduation planning structures.
Flexible curriculum selections from a board-approved list—core subjects and electives, including high school A‑G–approved courses—are available.
This option supports learners needing personalized pacing, by offering credit recovery or acceleration through its Accelerated Course Options Learning Program (ACOP).

The Online Learning Program at Compass Charter Schools offers a structured, virtual classroom experience for TK–12 students who thrive in an engaging, teacher-led environment. Using a high-quality digital curriculum through Accelerate Education, scholars follow a set schedule of online lessons, assignments, and assessments, all guided by credentialed Compass teachers.
